Podolski double helps Arsenal regain top four spot

Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski struck double in a laboured by 3-1 victory next to West Ham United on Tuesday, April 15 as the FA Cup finalists retained their drive for a Champions League position by moving back into the top four.

Germany international player Podolski equalized before the break and restricted a bright display with the third goal, after Olivier Giroud had place Arsenal in front 10 minutes into the second half, as Arsene Wenger’s side worked tough to state the three points.


The consequence gets Arsenal up a mark to fourth on 67 points with four matches left, one position and one point ahead of Everton who have a match in hand next to mid-table Crystal Palace on Wednesday as the Champions League qualification battle hots up.

West Ham’s Matt Jarvis gave the definite guests an earned 40th minute lead over a tired-looking Arsenal, who was taken to penalties by FA Cup possessors Wigan Athletic in the semi-finals on Saturday, when he jiggled home a loose ball in the part.
