High Waisted Skirts

High waisted skirts are very trendy right now. There are so many ways to wear them from fitted and sleek to pleated and full. Plain or patterned, dressed up or dressed on, no matter how you choose to wear this piece, you will surely follow the trend. This article will show you how to choose a high waisted skirt.

The skirt

The high waisted skirt is a throwback to vintage glamour. It looks great dressed up or dressed down, worn with heels or flats. This is an item that if well chosen, will last you for ages. A high waisted skirt can sit anywhere from in your waist, right up to just under your breasts.

Dressed up

This is a skirt that should be worn well-tailored, and definitely, not skin tight. The length should be just on the knee or below the knee. A black high waisted pencil skirt looks smashing with a simple crisp button-up shirt, or a flouncy blouse. Wear it to the office or evening cocktails. It will increase its glamour by choosing a satin finish on the skirt. Pair your sleek smart skirt with a pair of black heels and a simple white top and you will look gorgeous every time.

Dressed down

The casual high waisted skirt should be worn in the waist. Pair it with a thin belt for a trendy edge. This look calls for slightly fuller skirts than the smarter look. Wear your skirt pleated or gathered and with a mid thigh length. Wear it in a plain bright fabric with a contrasting top to create this season’s favourite look, the colour blocked outfit. Choose a skirt with frills or layers for added detail. For a more whimsical feel, wear a patterned skirt in a light filmy fabric in earthy tones. Wear this skirt with a plain scoop necked top and a pair of brogues.

Length and height

Consider your height and body shape when choosing this style of skirt. A fitted smart black skirt looks smashing on shorter girls as it lengthens the body. However, if you are tall and slender, cut and detailing become very important. If you have a small waist and wide hips, avoid wearing skirts that sit in your waist or tailored skirts with horizontal seams as these will accentuate the difference between your waist and your hips, making your hips appear wider that they actually are. Vertical seams create a smoother silhouette.

Shakti Mohan in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 7

While many top celebrities names are already in the list for the latest season of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7, the latest addition is Shakti Mohan. Another dance reality show winner, Faisal Khan, who won the second season of Dance India Dance L’il Champs and currently seen playing the title role in Bharat Ka Veer Putra — Maharana Pratap, has also been approached. “While Shakti is on, we are still negotiating with Faisal. We are hoping to have him on the show as well,” says a source from the show.

SRK Teases Virat Kohli in IPL 7 Opening Ceremony

Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma and Indian Cricketer Virat Kohli may go blue in the face denying their alleged relationship but recently SRK brought the whole thing into the public eye. At the opening ceremony of IPL 7 Shahrukh Khan and Virat Kohli shared the stage. Grabbing the opportunity, Chennai Express star teased Virat by gifting him a photograph of his alleged girlfriend, Anushka Sharma in a mock Swayamar session. Virat was so much embarrassed but he took it sportingly.

The IPL 7 was also shared by MS Dhoni who danced with the Jab Tak Hai Jahan actor, Shane Watson also strummed the Guitar. Mr Virat Kohli performed on a wedding mock with a cut-out of good friend Anushka Sharma and Deepika Padukone and added much sparkle and glitter to the night of the Indian Premier League. With so much of controversy involved in the tournament the IPL chose to stay away from the media and kept is as a more private event ceremony.

IPL 7 gala dinner night welcomed cricketers and celebrities at the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi. The sit-down dinner saw Nita Ambani, Sunil Gavaskar, Mahender Singh Dhoni among others attend the function hosted by the royal family of Abu Dhabi. “What a wonderful city Abu Dhabi is. I need to thank them for hosting us and being so warm and gracious,” said Shah Rukh, adding, “I wish all the players the very best and I can’t wait to see them create magic on the field.”

Ellen DeGeneres most powerful gay celebrity

The 56-year-old Celebrity talk show host Ellen DeGeneres secured the spot on US Out magazine’s 2014 Power List. This is yearly ranking of the most powerful LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) influences in American civilization.
Ellen who is married to ‘Arrested Development’ actress Portia de Rossi, has been named the most powerful gay celebrity in the US.

Announcing the news on its website, the publication stated, “Everybody loves Ellen, and that’s one of the reasons she’s regained the top spot. In March, ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ shattered its own 10-year ratings record in the episode that immediately followed her Academy Awards hosting gig, which also gave the awards its best ratings since 2004.
“And her star-studded Oscars selfie almost shut down Twitter when the pic became the most re tweeted ever.”
Other remarkable names on this year’s list contain ‘Good Morning America’ host Robin Roberts, CNN anchor Anderson Cooper, fashion designers Tom Ford and Marc Jacobs, ‘How I Met Your Mother’ star Neil Patrick Harris and ‘Glee’ actress Jane Lynch.

Hrithik-Katrina Not Talking To Each Other

Bollywood Stars Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif who were known to be close friends recently, are now seen not talking to each other on the sets of Bang Bang. Hrithik Roshan has been shooting day and night for the film, meanwhile his co-star Katrina Kaif comes on the sets for a very limited time and returns back to the van as soon as she is done with her part. Hrithik Roshan who will be seen doing three forms of dances, Salsa, Tutting and House in the film Bang Bang has been very busy these days with the shooting of the film.

It is to be said that Hrithik and Katrina became very close friends during shooting of the film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and now the apparent Distance between the duo is being attributed to Hrithik and Sussanne’s recent divorce. Rumours suggested that Hrithik and Katrina became close friends which ultimately resulted into divorce of Hrithik and Sussanne, and hence Katrina might now be trying to avoid any future gossip about her and Hrithik.

Whatever might be the reason behind Hrithik and Katrina’s apparent distance, we hope this does not hamper the duo’s chemistry in the movie Bang Bang. Also, Hrithik and Katrina share a kissing scene in the movie Bang Bang which is scheduled to release on October 2.

News Agencies to Boycott IPL

Some of the world news agencies have made a decision against covering cricket’s Indian Premier League T20 tournament in India and the United Arab Emirates, because of the elimination of several photo agencies from covering games. Agence France-Press, Thomson Reuters and Associated Press will send no reporters or photographers to the contest, which starts on Wednesday, April 16 as a complaint next to the IPL’s boundary on editorial freedom.
The photo agencies, including Getty Images and Action Images, provide publishers of editorial newspapers and websites around the world with pictures from sporting events in several countries without troubles, but have been debarred from covering the seventh version of the IPL following a disagreement regarding the commercialization of photos.
“The IPL policy is counter-productive and will lead to cricket fans being denied the varied and independent coverage they would expect from such reputable news sources,” the News Media Coalition, which clashes next to controls placed on news meeting and allocation by the organisers of main sporting events, said in a announcement.
“Between them, news agencies reach hundreds of thousands of publishing entities which are seen by millions of readers. That’s the value of getting the news media on-side – to the benefit of team franchises, players and sponsors.
“International news and photo agencies were able to cover the first IPL tournaments including the one in South Africa and we do not believe there should be an obstacle for the IPL 7 or other Indian cricket events.”
